A Look Back 20 Years: The Dreams We Chassed Together
Time flies, and 2004 is already a distant memory. Two decades have passed, and the familiar sights and people of that time are now shrouded in the dust of time. As we look back 20 years, do those vivid memories still linger in our minds?
Around 2004, smartphones weren't common, and every household had a clunky landline. Do you still remember your home phone number? Do you remember that phone, always covered with a cloth to keep it from getting dusty? Most phones back then were slide-phones or flip-phones, and the small games they came with brought us so much joy. What phone did you use back then?
Around 2004, the computer labs were filled with bulky desktop computers. We'd draw the curtains, wear shoe covers, and learn to type and use the phonetic system under the guidance of our teachers. Back then, we didn't know what Minesweeper or Solitaire were.
Do you remember the internet in those days? A beep meant a new message, a cough meant someone added you as a friend. We downloaded music to our memory cards using USB drives, and our go-to music player was "QQ Music." The moonlight was especially bright then, and the tomatoes and cucumbers in the field were exceptionally delicious. And our grandparents, always watching us with kindness. Now, they too have gradually faded away in the river of time
Memories from around 2004 are like precious scrolls, recording the imprint of our youth. Those years, the dreams we chased together, the laughter and tears, have all become the most valuable treasures in our lives.
Now, 20 years have passed, and our life paths have changed drastically. But when we look back, those old memories still bring us warmth and emotion, inspiring us to keep moving forward.
When we see people sharing their memories of the period around 2004 online, it's like seeing ourselves reflected back. Those familiar things and scenes evoke boundless resonance in our hearts.
Two-person tables, side-swept bangs, the "Mourning Family" subculture, Pagoda Candy these once popular elements have now become symbols of that era, a part of our youthful memories.
Do we remember when we got our first QQ number? What was our first QQ username? Do you remember the "Farmville" game that was so popular back then? QQ is no longer our go-to social platform, but those years of our youth recorded on it are still precious.
As time goes by, the people and things around us change. Some people have left, some things have become the past. But we must still cherish the present, live in the moment, and strive to do what we love, so that when we leave, we have fewer regrets and can truly be happy from within and hopeful about life!
20 years have passed, and we are no longer the naive youths we once were. But we can still hold onto our dreams and bravely chase our goals, ensuring a hopeful and happy future for ourselves.
Hopefully, in 20 years, when we reminisce about ourselves now, we will still have a plethora of memories filled with joy and happiness!
Remember, we only have one life. We should cherish every moment and live it to the fullest!
