In today's society, the development of technology has led to increasing expectations for medical technology. However, for the concept of 5G remote surgery, we need to conduct in-depth technological theoretical analysis and rational thinking to avoid being deceived by false propaganda. I previously wrote an article (5G remote surgery: a technological farce of "taking off your pants and farting") that satirizes the absurdity of 5G surgery, pointing out that this article will reveal the truth of 5G remote surgery from a theoretical perspective and expose those erroneous behaviors.
Technical complexity and security issues:
5G cannot have low latency
5G networks are touted as the ideal choice for high speed, low latency, and high capacity, but these characteristics are not decisive factors when implementing remote surgery. Successful execution of remote surgeryNeed a stable and reliable network, andInstability and reliability issues in 5G networks[1]5G4G, and5G[2]
The delay of 5G networks is mainly concentrated in the transmission between the base station and the user endBut in practical use,The entire network link from source to terminalThere will still be some delay introduced. Remote surgery requires doctors to accurately perceive the patient's physiological indicators and subtle changes during the surgery process, thus requiring high network latency. Even though 5G networks can theoretically achieve latency as low as 1 millisecond, in practical applications, includingMultiple aspects such as network devices, transmission lines, and data processing can all have an impact on latency, especially since these impacts have never been considered in 5G technologyThis resulted in a significant decrease in end-to-end latency as expected.
Let's use an example to specifically calculate latency. Assuming that in remote surgery, the time from the doctor sending instructions to the robot surgical tool actually executing the operation takes 100 milliseconds. In addition, the transmission delay of 5G networks is 10 milliseconds. Therefore, based solely on the latency of the 5G network, the total delay from the doctor sending instructions to the operation tool execution is 110 milliseconds. At the same time, the latency based on traditional wired networks is only 5 milliseconds. It can be seen that in this situation, the 5G network did not significantly improve the delay problem of remote surgery, and even slightly increased the delay.
5G cannot solve the technical complexity of remote surgery
In addition to latency issues, remote surgery also involves challenges of technical complexity and security. Remote surgery requires doctors to operate robotic surgical tools through remote controllers, which places extremely high demands on their technical level and experience. However, remote environments cannot provide doctors with an immersive feeling, as they cannot directly perceive the patient's physiological indicators and subtle changes during surgery, which may lead to operational errors and decision-making delays, thereby affecting the safety and medical quality of surgery. Although 5G networks can provide high-definition video transmission, they cannot compensate for the limitations of doctors being unable to personally participate in surgeries. Doctors need to perceive important information such as hardness, tension, and temperature of patient tissues through tactile and force feedback methods, which remote surgery cannot provide.
There is no solution to the security issue (unless 5G is not used)
In addition, 5G remote surgery also faces security challenges. Remote surgery involves doctors operating robotic surgical tools through remote controllers, which means that surgical operations can be subject to network attacks and malicious interference. Once the network is attacked, the surgical process may be interrupted or tampered with, posing a risk to the patient's life safety. In addition, remote surgery involves the transmission of a large amount of sensitive medical data, such as patient medical record information and physiological data, which also increases the risk of data leakage and privacy infringement [3].

Satirical and false propaganda:
, and5G5G[5]
These false propagandists claim that the speed of 5G networks is dozens of times faster than 4G, and the latency is as low as milliseconds, as if 5G networks are the savior of the medical industry. However, they overlooked one fact:
5G, and
No matter how fast the 5G network speed is, data transmission still needs to pass through multiple network nodes, which leads to overall latency issues. When doctors operate robotic surgical tools in a remote environment, each action needs to be transmitted and executed through the network, and even small delays can cause doctors to lose their ability to perceive and control in real-time.
Even more absurdly, false propagandists exaggerate the stability of the 5G network, claiming that it can ensure the feasibility of remote surgery. However, the stability issue of 5G networks remains a huge challenge. In practical applications, there may be problems in networks such as signal interference, coverage limitations, and switching between base stations, all of which can lead to network interruption or transmission errors. For applications such as remote surgery that require extremely high network stability, if there is a network interruption or transmission error, it will have a serious impact on the surgical process and even lead to surgical failure.
In fact, there are already ready-made solutions for point-to-point remote surgery at fixed locations, which can be directly connected using wired (usually fiber optic) dedicated networks. Many fields have tried successfully and do not use any 5G technology at all
suchFalse advertising attempts to attract people's attention with exaggerated effects, and
Faced with these false propaganda, we should maintain a clear mind and treat them with caution. The development of technology requires solid research and practice, and cannot be confused by false propaganda. Only by fully considering technological limitations and practical feasibility can the development of medical innovations such as remote surgery be promoted. False advertising not only misleads the public, but also has a negative impact on the development of the medical industry.

Conclusion:
At the current stage, achieving 5G remote surgery is pure fantasy. Technical restrictions, security issues, and the misleading effects of false advertising all contribute toThis concept seems absurd and ridiculous
In the face of technological development and medical innovation, we need to remain vigilant and treat various propaganda and claims with caution. althoughSome institutions or manufacturers may use exaggerated advertising techniques to promote their products or servicesBut we should maintain calm thinking and examine its authenticity and feasibility. After all,The medical field is related to people's health and life, and we cannot act recklessly
