The Titan operated by its company carried five passengers and was originally scheduled to dive over 3800 meters underwater in the North Atlantic Ocean on June 18th to investigate the wreckage of the Titanic. However, it was lost approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes after the dive began. After several days of searching by a large number of rescuers, the United States Coast Guard announced on June 22 that it was confirmed that the Titan had disintegrated underwater, which was characterized by a "catastrophic implosion", and all five passengers were killed.
