What is the difference between dehumidification and refrigeration in air conditioning? Finally, a master spoke the truth, thanks to a reminder

Hello everyone, I am Xiaolei. Today, let's talk about the difference between dehumidification and refrigeration in air conditioning? Hello everyone, I am Xiaolei. Today, let's talk about the difference between dehumidification and refrigeration in air conditioning? Because many friends use the dehumidification mode as a cooling mode during particularly hot summers, and many believe that turning on the dehumidification mode can save more electricity costs compared to turning on the cooling mode. Today, let me talk to you about these issues.
The main reason for mixing these two modes is that the principle of dehumidification mode and refrigeration mode operating in air conditioning is the same, that is, using a compressor to send liquid refrigerant through a capillary tube into the evaporator, vaporizing it into gas to absorb heat from indoor air, and then transporting the heat to the outside to achieve the goal of reducing indoor temperature, That is to say, both the dehumidification mode and the refrigeration mode are located in the position of the indoor unit, discharging some cold air to the outside. Therefore, many friends use the dehumidification mode as the refrigeration mode, which means that in the dehumidification mode, the air conditioner has a cooling effect, and in the refrigeration mode, it has a dehumidification effect. That is why when people see the air conditioner turning on the dehumidification mode or refrigeration mode, Water droplets will flow from the positions of indoor and outdoor drainage pipes, which also reduces the humidity of the indoor air.
While they have similarities, they also have significant differences, that is, their operating procedures are different. Although the final result is the same, the intermediate process is different, which is the cooling mode. It is aimed at cooling, which is to achieve the set temperature faster in the room. Usually, the highest power and wind speed are used to prioritize reaching the set temperature indoors, If the dehumidification mode is turned on, although it also has a cooling effect, it is to reduce indoor humidity faster. Usually, it operates at a relatively low wind speed to increase the contact time between the evaporator and indoor air, in order to allow the water vapor in the air to condense and produce water droplets when it comes into contact with the evaporator, and then discharge them to the outside.
The simplest example is two rooms with the same temperature and humidity. If one room is in this dehumidification mode and the other room is in this cooling mode, the humidity in the dehumidification mode will decrease first, but the temperature may not decrease very low. However, if the cooling mode is turned on, the temperature in the room will reach the set temperature first, but the humidity may not decrease, So there are still significant differences between this dehumidification mode and this refrigeration mode during operation. When the dehumidification mode is initially activated, it comes out relatively soft and at the lowest power, which is the lowest speed of the fan. The air that comes out is relatively warm and cold. If the refrigeration mode is activated, it is initially a relatively strong type of cold air, This is the experience in actual use.
Which of these dehumidification and cooling modes consumes more power? The main thing is to look at the working time of the compressor, because in the operating principle of air conditioning, the most power consuming component is the compressor. As for the power of the compressor, it is like a horse, and its power is about 800w, which is 0.8kw per hour. Taking a fixed frequency air conditioner as an example, in the cooling mode, it will first run at high power, which is full power, and then exchange more cold air with the room, And when the set temperature is reached, it will choose to shut down. When the temperature rises, it will choose to start again. That is to say, the outdoor compressor is in a state of intermittent opening, closing, opening, and closing. Often in summer, the indoor temperature is adjusted at 26 degrees, or 28 degrees. However, if the air conditioning is turned on to dehumidification mode, A large number of models have a default temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, some are 24 degrees Celsius, and some are 25 degrees Celsius, which means that the temperature is lower than the usual setting, and most of this temperature and wind force are not adjustable. Therefore, in dehumidification mode, the set temperature is low and the wind force is small, which undoubtedly increases the working time of the compressor, which means it consumes more electricity, So if you use dehumidification mode instead of refrigeration mode in particularly hot summer weather, not only will it not save electricity, but the service life of the compressor will also be greatly reduced.
The correct way to use the dehumidification mode of air conditioning is when the room temperature is not high, which means the indoor temperature is almost suitable, but the air humidity is relatively high. If the dehumidification mode is turned on, and if the indoor temperature is hot and high, the refrigeration mode should still be turned on. Currently, most air conditioners do not have humidity sensors. If you can choose this type of air conditioning with humidity sensors, after the air conditioning detects that the temperature is suitable, When the humidity is not suitable, it can be linked to the humidifier next to it to achieve the required humidity indoors. Because the dehumidification of the air conditioner is endless during the refrigeration process, which means that the indoor humidity is constantly decreasing, exceeding the relatively suitable humidity for the human body. Therefore, many friends why do they wake up the next morning after blowing the air conditioner all night, You will find that the throat is quite dry, and the sore throat is the reason for the low humidity in the air. So far, the combination of air conditioning with humidity sensors and linked humidifiers is the best solution.
