On October 3rd, the new mineral niobobaotite discovered by researchers Ge Xiangkun, Fan Guang, and Li Ting from China Nuclear Geological Technology Co., Ltd. (Beijing Institute of Geology of Nuclear Industry) received formal approval from the International Mineral Association's New Minerals, Nomenclature, and Classification Committee (IMACNMNC) with approval number IMA2022-127a. This is the 13th new mineral discovered in the nearly 70 years since the establishment of China's nuclear geological system.
