As a pioneer in the field of virtual reality, Xu Chi and his partners established the virtual reality hardware company XReal in 2017, focusing on the research and development of hybrid reality technology and the production of AR terminal glasses. According to IDC statistics in 2021, 11.2 million AR/VR headwear devices were sold globally throughout the year. Xu Chi stated that it is widely believed in the industry that the annual sales of the industry exceed 10 million units, indicating that the industry has the ability to self generate, cross the life and death line, and thus move towards mature and stable development. It is precisely because of the influence of this data indicator that the renaming of Meta and the release of Apple VR headphone display AppleVisionPro were ultimately driven.

This phenomenon is reflected in the fields of mobile phones and new energy vehicles, with a strong indicator of exceeding 10 million units, "Xu Chi admitted.

In his view, China's VR devices also conform to this development trend, especially last year's epidemic objectively promoted the recognition of VR devices at the public level. Nowadays, with the development of VR/AR devices in fitness and social media, VR/AR devices are no longer just trying to please experienced game players like in the previous decade. They are only working in the cool and glamorous direction of the metaverse, giving them a more direct direction to reach out to the general public. PICO's sales volume of 500000 units in 2022 is precisely the impact of this.

This development has also had a huge impact on XREAL. In the Chinese market, the XREALAir2 series directly exceeded 3000 units in first sales and GMV exceeded 10 million. According to an IDC report, XReal ranked first in global AR market sales in the first half of 2023, with a Q2 market share rising to 39.03%.

Xu Chi stated that XReal captures the core scenarios where users most need AR, such as gaming, watching movies, and working. The most prominent selling point of the XREAL series products is to achieve the maximum portable giant screen experience through an extremely lightweight device. Combining consumer needs and continuously iterating the product experience, XReal can enjoy a comfortable and immersive experience in terms of sound quality, image quality, and compatibility. This is the secret to success.

XREALAir2 can perfectly adapt to many devices such as mobile phones, computers, game consoles, and utilize the computing power of computers to achieve a 2D scene experience that maximizes utilization. At present, XReal has also collaborated with manufacturers such as NIO and Honor, with deep integration in both the car's large screen experience and the interconnection with mobile phones.

Xu Chi finally stated that Chinese companies represented by XReal have also invested a lot of research and development efforts in the AR terminal field. Although XReal is a startup company, it has demonstrated the leading position of Chinese companies in AR terminal innovation through its achievements in the global market.
