|Hello~I am your der (De'er). I am a digital enthusiast who enjoys discussing current affairs and exploring cost-effective things. Let's take a look!

Recently, a friend sent a private message saying that Huawei is returning to the 5G mobile phone market!

Some people say that Huawei has launched a new 5G mobile phone in 2023, and returning to the 5G mobile phone market is just around the corner; Some people say that the supply chain revealed that Huawei plans to return to the 5G mobile phone industry by the end of 2023; Some people also say that Huawei is facing difficulties in using domestic technology to create 5G Kirin chips In short, it is pointed out that Huawei will return to the 5G mobile phone market.

So today, I'm going to talk to everyone. Is Huawei really going to return to the 5G mobile phone market and launch a new 5G phone?

When it comes to Huawei's intention to return to the 5G mobile phone market, the first thing to mention is the news that Qualcomm has resumed providing Huawei with 5G chip supply. Not only have many influencers forwarded it, but they even claim that the Mate60 will have 5G, which has caused a lot of pollen to boil.

Before they had enough fun for a day or two, Huawei's Yu Chengdong debunked the rumor, saying it was fake news, and everyone was disappointed like a bolt from the blue. As we all know, Huawei actually has the ability to solve 5G related problems, but it only takes time to overcome relevant technical challenges.

Then, another news from Huawei's supply chain came out, saying that Huawei planned to cooperate with Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation. At that time, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation would use the N+1 manufacturing process of SMIC International for contract manufacturing, which was comparable to TSMC's 7nm process in terms of performance, and would launch a new 5G machine at the end of the year.

You should know that Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation is one of the largest semiconductor foundries in China and one of the main suppliers of Huawei HiSilicon chips. However, the United States has also imposed sanctions on Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, so that Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation cannot buy the advanced EUV Stepper of ASML in the Netherlands, and does not have the equipment needed to produce 7nm chips.

Although Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation can currently produce chips of more than 14nm, it cannot meet the demand of Huawei's high-end 5G chips.

As for whether the news is true or false, Huawei has refused to comment, and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation has not responded. Let's hope more about it.

When everyone was confused, a research company jumped out and said that the Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation N+1 manufacturing process used by Huawei was expected to have a yield of less than 50% for 5G chips at the initial stage, and the shipment would be limited to about 2 million to 4 million pieces. Another company also made an estimate and believed that the shipment volume should reach 10 million units, but did not provide further details.

Interestingly, there are also some big shots who say that they have received news from channel providers that Huawei's Mate60 series stock will reach over 5 million units. They feel that without 5G, they would not dare to stock so much. Those who have been deceived for so many years are no longer convinced.

So in the past two days, Huawei's dealer "Uncle Kanshan" posted a message announcing the arrival of a new 5G phone launched by Huawei in 2023, harshly criticizing those who said "Huawei does not have a new 5G phone this year".

However, don't be so happy either. In fact, this model is a Huawei Mate40EPro model that has removed the Leica logo. It not only has a brand new 3C certification certificate, but also a brand new network access license, which is similar to the regular version in other aspects.

As for this Huawei Mate40EPro new machine, it is equipped with the Kirin 9000L5G chip. Although it has undergone minor modifications and has been castrated with 1 CPU mid core, 1 CPU small core, 2 GPUs, and 1 NPU large core, its performance is roughly equivalent to that of the Snapdragon 865 processor, but its daily use is still smooth and has 5G!

Returning to the question, does Huawei Mate60 series have 5G and do they plan to return to the 5G market?

According to the previous online information, Huawei Mate60 series is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+4G chips, and the Pro version is Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen24G chips. We didn't see that 5G will be carried.

However, Huawei has raised its target for mobile phone shipments in 2023, directly increasing from 30 million units to 40 million units, indicating confidence in the Mate60 series of new phones. Coupled with online influencers' revelations, Huawei's inventory is more abundant than before, and it is bold to speculate that confidence comes from 5G chips.

As for whether Huawei plans to return to the 5G market, it has now been expressed with joy and welcome on the lips of its friends. However, it is estimated that the company will be extremely nervous and will bring some pressure to the domestic mobile phone market.

But returning is not a matter of just saying it, it depends on the actual situation, especially if the information has not been confirmed or the official announcement has not yet been made. Just listen to it.

Finally, perhaps Huawei has indeed launched the Huawei Mate40E Pro 5G model to achieve the achievement of "launching a new 5G phone in 2023", but der believes that this is ultimately just a minor change to the old model, and even the chips may be in stock. It is not entirely true that it is a new 5G phone.

At a time when there are no major breakthroughs in technology, Huawei plans to return to the 5G market, but it is unknown whether it is the same as this Mate40EPro5G model, which is planned to be launched in January 2023 and has been delayed until July now. It has not even been seen in the mall yet
