System installation steps

Choose 'TryroInstallUbuntu Server' to try or install Ubuntu

Wait for the installation program to load, approximately 1-5 minutes depending on performance

Select the installation language, there is no Chinese here. Select 'English' and press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

Choose whether to upgrade the installation program. After selecting 'Continue without updating' here, press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

There is a prompt here because an updated version has already been released during installation. If the current version is the latest, there is no such prompt.

It is recommended to update after the installation is completed, otherwise the installation program will be very time-consuming.

Select the keyboard language, and select 'Chinese' for both 'Layout' and 'Variant'. After selecting 'Cone', press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

It is also possible to keep the default and use an English keyboard, which will not have any impact in principle. However, in older versions of Ubuntu, choosing Chinese here may cause the installation program to crash.

Select the version of the operating system to install, either "Ubuntu Server" or "Ubuntu Server (minimized)" can be selected here. After selecting "Cone", press the "Enter" key to proceed to the next step

Following the principle of streamlining the server system as much as possible, I chose "Ubuntu Server (minimized)". This version only includes the necessary systems and programs, which has advantages in performance, volume, and security. However, due to being too streamlined, many programs are not built-in, making it a bit cumbersome to use.

Choose a partition scheme. If you are too troublesome, you can directly select "Cone" and press "Enter" to proceed to the next step (the first scheme)

Select partition scheme, manual partition scheme (second scheme)

Select 'Custom Storage layout', then select 'Cone' and press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

After selecting 'freespace', select 'Add GPTPartition' from the next level menu

CreateEnterAfter selecting 'freespace', select 'Add GPTPartition' from the next level menu

Size: 300m

Format Extfour

Mount:/boot

CreateEnterAfter selecting 'freespace', select 'Add GPTPartition' from the next level menu

Size: 2g

Format: swap

Mount: (unable to input)

Create a data partition (root partition), enter according to the following configuration, select "Create", and press "Enter" to proceed to the next step.

Size: (Keep blank)

Format extfour

Mount:/

Then select 'Cone' and press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

Confirm the execution of the partition plan. After this operation is completed, all data on the hard drive will be cleared. If confirmed to be correct, select 'Continue' and press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

Then select 'Cone' and press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

YourName: {Enter your username}

YourServer's name: {Enter your computer name}

Pickausername: {Enter your username}

#Due to Ubuntu's default lock on root user, please remember that this username is your login user

Chooseapassword: {Enter your login password}

Confirmyoupassword: {Enter your login password again}

SSHInstall OpenSSH ServerThen select 'Cone' and press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

Although it is generally required to streamline the system as much as possible, SSH is available to facilitate system management. To avoid future trouble, it is installed directly here.

Install other server features, unless necessary, skip here. After selecting 'Cone', press' Enter 'to proceed to the next step

As for the same sentence, try to keep the system streamlined, and all required functions can be installed later. Do not install any unnecessary ones.

Wait for the system installation to complete, which will take approximately 5-10 minutes.

All the system files required for normal installation are available on the installation disk, but I don't know why Ubuntu still likes networking, so there may be occasional slow installation situations. Just wait.

After the following interface appears, it indicates that the system has been installed. Select 'RebootNow' to end the installation.

Here, it is recommended to first remove the installation media (virtual machine return disk, physical machine unplug USB disk, and if the CD is installed, it will automatically pop up)

There is usually an error prompt like this, which only prompts to pop up the installation media. Simply press the "Enter" key. Waiting for the computer to restart

After the computer restarts, it will prompt the following information. Simply enter the previously set "username" and "password" to log in.

After logging in, the following interface will appear.

Ubuntu 23.0four
