The opening song of this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference opening ceremony is as cool as ever. The dazzling lighting, dancing 3D robotic arms, and vivid video footage, combined with the performance of the "90s generation" erhu performer and songwriter Zhu Yun, bring the audience a fusion of various ethnic instruments and a rich national style audio-visual feast.
It wasn't until the final host revealed the secrets that the audience suddenly realized that the composition of the opening song, the performance of other ethnic instruments, and even the production of videos and lighting were all generated by artificial intelligence. Unconsciously, generative artificial intelligence has entered people's daily lives.
1. Generative artificial intelligence brings change
Last year, generative artificial intelligence entered the public's view. Writing copywriting, writing papers, drawing illustrations, making videos... It seems like a night has replaced many human tasks, making people happy and worried.
"Generation" means that AI can not only do the previous Discriminant work, but also form new productivity. In the long run, the technological revolution and industrial transformation triggered by "generation" are reshaping the world economy and influencing future life.
The product categories generated by artificial intelligence are accelerating renovation. Just like the opening scene of the opening ceremony, as one of the official nine "treasures of the town hall" of this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Tencent Multimedia Laboratory's self-developed XMusic universal composition framework is based on generative artificial intelligence technology, supporting multimodal content such as videos, images, text, tags, humming as input prompts, and can generate high-quality music with controllable emotions, style, and rhythm.
This greatly lowers the threshold for people to create new music, which can be by inputting a carefully shot short video, a meaningful photo, or just a line of thought-provoking text.
On the opposite side of Tencent's booth, the sound of hitting and shooting from SenseShot smart Basketball court in SenseTime's exhibition area attracted visitors to stop and participate from time to time. Relying on the five cameras set up on the court, the smart Basketball court conducts 3D modeling of the court through 2D key point extraction and 3D video Motion capture and other technologies. The system will automatically capture 29 key points of the face/human body and basketball, and perform logical calculation and analysis on the players.
After the game is over, the system can generate a personal video collection based on the three-dimensional coordinates of the person and the ball in space, and analyze the movement characteristics of the person in different sports states, providing detailed data and statistics for players to help analyze and improve basketball skills.
"This AI system can not only provide amateur basketball fans with data statistics and improve their technical level, but also provide technical statistics and tactical sharing for High-performance sport games, helping professional basketball teams improve their technical and tactical level. Now we are in contact with CBA professional teams, and may provide them with solutions in the future." Wang Zhaohui, director of Shangtang Smart Sports, told reporters.
2. Large models empower thousands of industries
If Baidu Wenxin, as a big model at last year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference, still stands out as a standout, this year, more than 30 big models such as Alibaba Tongyi, Huawei Pangu, iFlytek Spark, and Shangtang Ri Ri Xin have all appeared, showing a flourishing vitality.
General artificial intelligence has become the most popular topic in our human society during this period, "Hu Houkun, Huawei's rotating chairman, said at the opening ceremony of the conference." While Huawei is deeply cultivating computing power, it also needs to do a good job, that is, let artificial intelligence truly enter various industries and serve scientific research. On the one hand, we need to continuously improve the ability of general large models, and on the other hand, we need to build industry models on this basis
As the winner of the SAIL Award at this World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Jingtai Technology's intelligent and automated Drug development platform uses AI and robots to achieve a highly automated and intelligent process of innovative Drug development, which also includes the application of professional models.
They took the lead in applying GPT like technology to macromolecular Drug development, and independently developed the next generation macromolecular drug generative AI model ProteinGPT, which has good applications in antibody discovery, antibody modification, antigen design, protein de novo design and other scenarios. As the world's first macromolecular drug generative AI model landing in the real Drug development pipeline, ProteinGPT is also compared to the biological version of generative AI by the industry.
3. Generative artificial intelligence is a double-edged sword
Generative artificial intelligence is a double-edged sword that, while rapidly developing and benefiting humanity, has also posed new problems to humanity in terms of ethics, social governance, laws and regulations. In the view of Cui Yadong, President of the Shanghai Law Society, generative artificial intelligence currently faces a series of issues that need to be addressed in areas such as data security, intellectual property, application standards, and related laws.
From a legal perspective, artificial intelligence may generate false information, leading to infringement issues. This requires us to make necessary legal responses, "said Wang Liming, a professor at Renmin University of China." We need to focus on regulation while also encouraging innovation. How to leave the necessary space for innovation is a value orientation that we must consider when determining infringement
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, is also worried about the future of deep AI. This kind of super intelligence has powerful capabilities, stronger than humans, which also represents a risk and hidden concern. Musk said at the opening ceremony of the conference, "It may have a very positive future, but there is also a possibility of triggering some negative events. We need to do our best to ensure that these negative futures do not occur, and positive futures will occur
