Collaboration between medical education and strengthening cooperation between universities and institutions for disease control and prevention

Shen Hongbing believes that China's current public health talent training system is basically sound, but there are still some shortcomings: from the perspective of training mode, undergraduate education is dominated by medical courses, lacking the "big health concept", and Preventive healthcare and clinical medicine are gradually separated; Graduate education mainly focuses on the traditional five major health issues, with insufficient efforts in cultivating interdisciplinary talents. There is no significant difference between academic and applied master's degrees, and emphasis is placed on scientific research over practical application; Insufficient practical teaching resources for professional degree education. In addition, public health education in clinical medicine majors is not given enough attention and has a single approach.

For optimizing the policy mechanism and ecological environment of public health personnel training, Shen Hongbing particularly emphasized the coordination of medicine and education, and strengthened the all-round and in-depth cooperation between colleges and universities and disease control, medical and other related institutions. In addition, we should break the boundaries of disciplines, strengthen the co construction and sharing of professional education resources between public health and other disciplines, promote the cross integration of Preventive healthcare and clinical medicine in college education, standardized training and professional qualifications, and establish and improve China's public health education certification system. He introduced that the Ministry of Education's "101 Plan" also exists for public health and Preventive healthcare, focusing on creating four "core" resources, namely, curriculum, teaching materials, teachers and practice conditions.
