The 2024 National Day "Golden Week" is approaching, and Amap has released a 2024 National Day Holiday Travel Forecast Report to provide users with a travel reference. The report shows that traffic pressure on national highways is expected to gradually increase starting from 4:00 PM on September 30, 2024. A small peak in travel will occur from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM on October 1st, with the peak of highway outbound traffic congestion occurring from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on October 1st, reaching its peak between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The report predicts that the following stretches of highway are more likely to experience outbound traffic congestion on October 1, 2024: G1522 Changtai Expressway Suzhou section (from Changshu High-tech Zone toll station to Donghang Interchange), with an average speed of approximately 6 km/h throughout the day; followed by G1503 Shanghai Outer Ring Expressway (from Chuanyanghe Bridge to Hushongsulitong Interchange); and G15 Shenhai Expressway (from Baiyun Interchange to Baiyunzi Interchange).
To ensure users have a smoother travel experience during the National Day holiday, Amap has announced the launch of the "2024 National Travel Festival" and released its new V15 version, aiming to provide users with more convenient and comprehensive travel services.
New Features of Amap V15, safeguarding Your National Day Travel
To meet user service needs in different regions and scenarios, Amap V15 introduces six new features:
- Lane-Level Navigation: The world's first lane-level navigation feature on a map platform, using "super-distance" perception to provide drivers with faster lane recommendations, helping users anticipate complex road conditions on highways.
- Beidou Satellite Navigation Without Network: For long-distance self-driving trips through areas without network signal, Amap V15 offers Beidou satellite navigation without network. When network signals are unstable, it automatically switches to offline navigation mode, preventing users from missing turns.
- Satellite SOS: For users who may be traveling on trips, adventures, or exploring in areas without signal, remote areas, or even uncharted territory, Amap V15's new version introduces a satellite SOS feature. In case of danger, users can send an effective SOS message containing precise location information, significantly enhancing rescue efficiency.
- 3D Map: Amap V15's new version rolls out a 3D map, providing a microscopic view that makes business district heatmaps, floor guidance, and urban dynamics easily visible.
- AI Navigator: The AI navigator will provide users with navigation information and route planning in a more intelligent way, making your journey more relaxing and enjoyable.
- Performance Improvement: Amap V15 has optimized overall performance, making map loading faster and operations smoother, enhancing user experience.
