China Eastern Airlines Technology and Thales Renew Cooperation Agreement, Deepening Avionics Maintenance Partnership

On November 12, 2024, China Eastern Airlines Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CEA Technology") and Thales renewed their cooperation agreement at the 15th China Airshow held in Zhuhai, marking another significant milestone in their decade-long partnership. According to the agreement, Thales will continue to provide maintenance and repair services for its avionics equipment for CEA's A320, A330 and B737 fleets over the next five years.

This continued collaboration builds upon the successful partnership established between the two companies since 2018, leveraging Thales' technological edge and service quality in the avionics field. Thales will provide comprehensive support to CEA through its local Chinese maintenance center Thales Avionics (Beijing) Co., Ltd., as well as the Thales Global Aviation Services (AGS) center in Singapore, ensuring the proper operation of CEA's avionics equipment.

The cooperation between CEA Technology and Thales dates back to 2014, when CEA first chose Thales' avionics equipment, equipping its 270 A320 aircraft with Thales' Flight Management System (FMS), Low Range Radio Altimeter (LRRA), and T3CAS integrated surveillance solution. In 2018, the two companies signed a strategic maintenance cooperation agreement, further deepening their relationship.

The signing of this cooperation agreement not only acknowledges the quality of Thales' services but also reflects its commitment to serving China's growing aviation market.
