It is reported that Panasonic's only company in the world to produce lead-acid batteries is Panasonic Battery (Shenyang) Co., Ltd. (PSBS), which officially ceased production on May 31. Previously, it mainly produced industrial lead-acid batteries for emergency power supply in buildings.
Previously, it was reported that in order to expand its lithium battery business, Panasonic will invest 700 billion yen (approximately 35.7 billion yuan) in equipment investment this year, with more than half of the funds going into the automotive battery business, aiming to increase battery production capacity by 60% within one year.
