The top international academic journal "Science" has published research papers related to this major original breakthrough online.
It is understood that the SCN region is the command center of circadian rhythm. Researchers found that neurons in this region have primary cilia, which are like cell "antenna". The research team has been engaged in the research of cilia organelle for a long time, revealing a series of important laws of primary cilia generation and disassembly. In this study, by continuously observing the ciliary structure of brain slices, researchers were surprised to discover a special phenomenon of ciliary rhythmic changes, and after years of exploration, it was revealed that cilia have the function of regulating rhythm.
Li Huiyan metaphorically said, "This' antenna 'structure stretches and retracts every 24 hours, like the' pointer 'of the biological clock, which can adjust the body's rhythm and time difference." Researchers further found that the mechanism by which cilia regulate the body's rhythm is by regulating the co frequency resonance of a large number of neurons in the SCN region, which is the most exciting scientific discovery for them.
