Huolala's Green Freight Report: New Energy Vehicles Driving Low-Carbon Transformation of Urban Transportation

On December 2nd, the Urban Transportation Branch of the China Association of Transportation jointly released the "Data on Green Freight: 2024 Urban Freight Decarbonization Data Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") with Huolala, comprehensively showcasing the significant achievements of the Huolala platform in promoting green freight and reducing carbon emissions. The report, using detailed data, powerfully demonstrates Huolala's positive contribution to the low-carbon transformation of China's urban transportation.

The report's data reveals that over the past year (October 2023 to October 2024), a remarkable 40% of orders on the Huolala platform were completed by new energy vehicles, which cumulatively traveled an astounding 7.4 billion kilometers. This massive transportation volume, compared to traditional fuel-powered trucks, successfully reduced carbon emissions by 1.42 million tons. This is equivalent to the annual carbon dioxide absorption of 78.87 million trees, highlighting its significant environmental benefits. This achievement not only underscores Huolala's leadership in the green freight sector but also provides a successful model for other logistics companies, offering strong support and a demonstration effect for the low-carbon transformation of urban transportation nationwide.

Notably, the report highlights the leading role of some cities in the use of new energy vehicles. Wenchang City, Hainan Province, ranked among the top nationwide with a 95.8% completion rate using new energy vehicles, demonstrating its outstanding achievements and vision in green transportation development. Furthermore, the number of new energy vehicles in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, increased by more than double, visually reflecting the rapid rise and booming development of the green freight wave nationwide. This suggests that more cities will join the green freight movement in the future, contributing collectively to building a clean and environmentally friendly urban transportation system.

To better support the popularization and use of new energy vehicles, Huolala actively launched the "Green Route Action," vigorously constructing charging infrastructure nationwide. Currently, the "Green Route Action" has established 86,000 new energy power stations and 940,000 new energy charging piles, covering 338 cities nationwide. This provides convenient and reliable charging services for new energy vehicle drivers, effectively addressing range anxiety and significantly reducing operating costs. Statistics show that the "Green Route Action" has cumulatively saved drivers over 200 million yuan in fuel and charging costs, substantially improving their income and living standards, and further promoting the positive development of green freight.

As a responsible leader in the freight industry, Huolala actively responds to the national "dual carbon" strategic goals, integrating them into its core business strategy. Through multiple measures such as promoting new energy vehicles, optimizing logistics networks, and improving transportation efficiency, Huolala continuously reduces carbon emissions in the logistics sector, contributing to the construction of a green and ecological civilization.

The report also showcases the significant growth in the number of active new energy vehicle drivers on the Huolala platform over the past three years. Data shows that this number increased from 22.9% in 2022 to 28.8% in 2024, meaning nearly 30% of truck drivers now enjoy "air conditioning freedom," no longer worrying about fuel consumption from using air conditioning in hot summer weather. This not only improves driver comfort and work efficiency but also indirectly reflects the increasing recognition of the applicability and environmental benefits of new energy vehicles.

Furthermore, the report indicates that the registration of new energy vehicle drivers covers various regions across the country, from Jiamusi in the northernmost part of Heilongjiang Province to Sanya in the southernmost part of Hainan Province, and from Kashgar in western Xinjiang to Heihe in northern Heilongjiang. These green trucks traveling on roads across the country are gradually becoming the new norm for urban freight, driving the entire freight industry towards a more low-carbon and environmentally friendly transformation and upgrade.

Huolala stated that it will continue to increase investment in the green freight sector and actively explore more diversified development paths. Through technological innovation, policy incentives, and infrastructure construction, Huolala is committed to promoting the popularization and application of new energy vehicles, making greater contributions to the low-carbon transformation and sustainable development of urban transportation. Simultaneously, Huolala will continue to optimize its logistics network and services, continuously improving transportation efficiency and service quality to provide customers with more convenient, efficient, and environmentally friendly freight services to meet the growing demand for green logistics.

The release of this report is not only an affirmation of Huolala's achievements in the green freight sector but also provides valuable experience and reference for other companies. Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goals, more and more companies are expected to focus on and participate in the construction of green freight, jointly promoting China's urban transportation towards a more low-carbon, environmentally friendly, and sustainable future. In the future, green freight will no longer be just a slogan but will become the mainstream trend in urban transportation development. Huolala's practice shows that through technological innovation, policy guidance, and active cooperation among enterprises, building a green and environmentally friendly urban transportation system is entirely feasible and will bring significant social and economic benefits. This will provide important reference and inspiration for green transportation development in China and globally.
