Exploring the ideal framework configuration of high-performance battery negative electrode materials is currently a cutting-edge scientific issue internationally. Lithium metal negative electrodes are considered the ideal negative electrode materials for the next generation of lithium batteries, but problems such as dendrites generated during the cycling process hinder their commercial application. "Duan Jinglai, director of the nanomaterials department and researcher at the institute, told reporters that he is looking for a combination of high energy density The lithium negative electrode framework configuration with high power density and high cycle stability is of great significance for the development of high-performance lithium-ion batteries.
Based on the heavy ion research facility in Lanzhou, researchers have constructed a new three-dimensional porous composite frame structure using nuclear track technology. This structure is composed of a three-dimensional nano copper skeleton and uniformly distributed lithium sites. When combined with lithium metal as the negative electrode of lithium-ion batteries, the composite framework structure exhibits a long cycle life of over 2000 hours and high-speed capacity. Even under high area capacity and high current density, the composite negative electrode still exhibits stable cycling performance after 600 hours of operation.
Compared with other frame structures of the same material, this three-dimensional porous composite frame structure significantly improves the electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries. Further research shows that the good mechanical strength, high porosity and low porosity tortuosity of the composite frame structure are the main factors to improve the battery performance.
Duan Jinglai introduced that this work introduces nuclear track technology into the field of electrode materials and proposes a new type of metal lithium negative electrode framework configuration, which is of great significance for exploring high-performance negative electrode materials. It is conducive to studying the specific form of ideal negative electrode framework structure, triggering more discussions and reflections on lithium negative electrode framework configuration by researchers, and will help solve key problems in lithium metal negative electrodes and develop energy storage fields.
